Rumpistol: Away
Rumpistol: Away is a series of still images created around Danish musician Rumpistol’s fifth album and its accompanying music video. “Asleep, Adrift - Away” translates themes of isolation, absence, escape and total creative presence from the music into a visual body of work.
The project reflects the analog and nostalgic qualities that run through the album, from deliberately squashed cassette tapes and reel-to-reels to crackling vinyl, vintage synthesizers and fragments of childhood recordings. These physical imperfections and washed-out memories form a visual counterpart to Rumpistol’s bittersweet compositions and the album’s recurring tension between absence and complete immersion.
